Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus-Bouchard Père & Fils

This Beaune 1er cru wine "Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus" Domaine 2021 de Bouchard Père & Fils takes its name from a historical anecdote linked to the Carmelite Marguerite du Saint-Sacrement. In fact, the latter is said to have predicted the birth of the future king of France despite the sterility of his mother Anne of Austria. This vineyard took the name "Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus" at the birth of Louis XIV. Sold in 1791 during the sale of national assets, this land of 3.92 hectares, with an east-south-east exposure on a very gravelly clay-limestone soil, has since been the monopoly of the Bouchard Père & Fils company.
