Malvazija Pietra is a white wine made from Istrian Malvasia, an aromatic variety typical of the border area between Italy and Slovenia. We are in the Slovenian Karst, where Marko Tavčar produces local wines in an artisanal way. On the nose there are intense notes of yellow and tropical pulp fruit, such as mango and intriguing hints of rosemary on the finish. The maceration on the skins in these areas tends to give a pleasantly fatty character to the wine, the sip is in fact buttery and of good flavor.
