The originality of this wine lies in its proportion of cabernet franc, which is balanced by merlot and cabernet-sauvignon, an unusual fact for the left bank. The result is a rich, dense and harmonious wine. Its beautiful appearance is complemented by a dark ruby color. On the palate it is mature, full and harmonious. You can easily keep a bottle in the cellar for about twenty years: when tasted it will be even finer and more interesting. As far as table pairing is concerned, the great wine of Château Carmes Haut-Brion will pair wonderfully with beautiful red meat dishes.
