Gravner Rosso Rujno
Rujno is Josko Gravner's rarest and most age-worthy red wine: unlike pure Red, Rujno ages twice as long and is only produced in exceptional vintages and in extremely small quantities. It comes from a single old vineyard on the border of Slovenia and is composed mainly of Merlot with a hint of Cabernet, aged for over 84 months in barrel and another 84 months in bottle before leaving the cellar. In total, more than 15 years passed before it was released on the market. The peculiarity is that the destemmed grapes (95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) ferment for six months on the skins in conical Slavonian oak tanks, after which the wine rests for seven years in massive Slavonian oak barrels.
